Buhari Should Forget South-west In 2019 – Fasehun

Buhari Should Forget South-west In 2019 – Fasehun

AMIDST allegation of marginalization, President Muhammadu Buhari has been advised to take urgent steps to save his political career in the South-west geo-political zone.

‎Dr. Frederick Fasehun‎, the founder of  Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, described alleged marginalization of the Yoruba in Buhari’s government as real.

He called on the president to do the needful, warning that the people from the geo-political zone may use their votes to punish the president and APC in  2019 general elections, unless there is a redress.‎

When asked in what ways do he think Yoruba ethnic group has been marginalized by the Federal Government, the medical practitioner in an interview with the Saturday edition of Sun Newspaper said “‎You don’t need to look far before you can see the difference. Look at all the key appointments the president has been making since coming to power, the north is favoured more than the south. It is only inconsequential positions that are being handed Yoruba and other ethnic nationalities. Key appointments and influential positions are given to the north, and it is very unfortunate that some people would always found justification for the president’s action, but Nigerians can’t be fooled.”‎

When reminded that the yoruba race has the number two man in the country, the 81 year old elderstatesman from Ondo dismissed the saying describing the country’s vice president, Osinbajo as a spare tyre.

The statesman also describe Afenifere who has also been championing the marginalization cause as been dead, suggesting that the group needs to be rebranded.‎‎

‎When asked to elaborate  the useful lessons he claims the Yoruba have learnt in their marginalization by the Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari‎, the notable yoruba leader said “What I meant is that our people must have learnt a bitter lesson from the way they are being treated by the present leadership under President Muhammadu Buhari.

“You know as the saying goes, words of elders are words of wisdom. Not only that God used some elders including myself in the run-up to the 2015 general elections, that we should not only raise alarm, but also warn Yoruba about going into any romance or alliance with General Buhari.

“When we were raising that alarm, it is not that we have personal hatred or harboured any grudge against Buhari, but our opposition against Buhari was hinged on the fact that this man was in power before and we all knew how he marginalized other sections of the country, promoting only the northern interests.

“People complained that time against his style, but Buhari refused to budge, under Buhari’s military leadership then, Nigeria was almost turned into Animal Farm where some animals were equal than others.

“As the saying goes, a leopard can’t change its spots, and that was why we warned Nigerians that time, especially the Yoruba, that helping Buhari to get political power would amount to nothing but political suicide. Voting for Buhari or helping Buhari to get political power is like riding on the back of a tiger, and if you are not careful, you end up in the belly of that tiger. This is exactly what is happening today, Buhari has not changed a bit. He has only changed his military garb for civilian attires, but the man still remains the same, stubborn and a biased leader.

“Forget whatever his supporters and media handlers are saying, Buhari is pro-North 100 per cent, and he doesn’t care about the feelings of other sections of the country, especially the South. Buhari is not a national leader, it would be wrong for anybody or any genuine patriot to describe Buhari as a national leader.

“However, it is not only the Yoruba that Buhari has marginalised, he has marginalized the entire South. Buhari is Nigeria’s president, but from his actions, he doesn’t behave or act like a leader who sees the entire nation as his constituency.”

While admitting organising a Pan-Yoruba Conference to promote peace and unity of his ethnic group, he distanced that it is at the instance of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of All Progressives Congress, APC who some people, especially some Yoruba elders felt is being marginalised within the APC fold‎.

When asked what will be Yoruba’s reaction in the next general election, considering Buhari’s perceived betrayal of the South-west‎, he said “the answer is very simple. Buhari should forget South-west in 2019. People’s eyes are open now and not only in Yorubaland, even in the North people are tired of Buhari’s administration.

“Apart from betrayal or no betrayal, what has Buhari done to deserve coming back? Almost two years into his administration, Nigerians have become more pauperized. There is pain and hunger in the land. Nigerians are really angry with this APC government.‎

“Initially, when they were coming into office, were Nigerians not cheering Buhari and APC, but what is the situation today? Those Nigerians who were cheering Buhari and APC are now jeering at them. People are fed up. Even in the North, people are clamouring for change. When people shout APC in those days, others would respond Change, but today when you shout APC instead of people replying you with “Change”, they are replying “APC Shame.‎

“Buhari and other APC leaders should read the handwriting on the wall, and start doing the needful, because 2019 is almost here with us, and millions of Nigerians are eager to punish Buhari and APC with their votes.”‎

How 68 University Students Realized They Got Scammed On Eve Of Graduation

How 68 University Students Realized They Got Scammed On Eve Of Graduation

The Jinan Times is a daily newspaper based in Shandong province. Today’s front page features a picture of a distressed student along with a phony university admissions letter. The headline reads: “68 ‘university students’ realize on the eve of their graduation that they have been duped.” The story is about a recently uncovered higher education scam, where a man called Zhao Lianshan distributed fake university admission offers to students who had not scored high enough on the entrance exam to get in.

Zhao’s letter offered these would-be students admission to the Shandong Institute of Light Industry, through a new pilot program for students who had not scored as well. They could enroll as full-time students for four years, and pay about RMB 8,000 per year in tuition. Sixty-eight students agreed to enroll, and it was not until June 3, 2012, four years later, that they realized they had never been enrolled in the Shandong Institute of Light Industry. The whole college career had been a sham, and Zhao Lianshan, the man who devised it, has disappeared.
As one student told the Jinan Times, “Until now, our teachers all claimed to be from the Shandong Institute. We only just found out they’re not affiliated with the university at all. So now they’re avoiding us, and not answering their phones.”

The fake school was officially set up as a training school on the grounds of the Shandong Institute. It was in charge of its own admission, finances, teaching and administration. Yet the letterheads were fake, and copied from the university itself.

When asked about the incident, the local police said, “we ourselves are victims here.” They would like to track down Zhao, but have been unsuccessful.

The students who were tricked are very anxious about their futures, and several are hesitant to tell their families what has happened.

In an era where the pervasiveness of sexual harassment is steadily being acknowledged across every profession and sphere of life — from the research lab to the sidewalk — it’s not altogether surprising, if disheartening, that the roots of harassment can be found as early as middle school. At least so says this latest study out of the University of Illinois.
Researchers, led by psychologist Dorothy Espelage, conducted a five-year-long study of over 1,300 Illinois children from four different schools as they moved from fifth to eighth grade. The kids were surveyed (and a smaller group interviewed) about any and all sexual harassment they experienced in the recent past. All in all, 43% said they faced some verbal sexual harassment during the year before; 21% said they’d been touched, grabbed, or pinched in a sexual way; and another 18% percent said they were brushed up against in an inappropriate manner.
“What was most surprising and concerning was that these young people were dismissive of these experiences, even though they described them as very upsetting,” Espelage, now a professor at the University of Florida, said in a statement.
Just as worrying, much of the harassment kids experienced veered straight into homophobic bullying, especially among boys.  Sixteen percent said they had been picked on using homophobic slurs or jokes, while 5% said it happened frequently. This sort of bullying had its start in fifth or sixth grade, Espelage explained, and kids who didn’t think sexual harassment was a big deal were more likely to engage in it.
There were also subtle differences between how certain groups of kids experienced harassment and assault. White kids usually got the brunt from students and friends in their same age group, but black victims were more likely to be bullied or assaulted by older kids or even their own romantic partners. Predictably, if sadly, boys were the majority of bullies, both to girls and boys, but girls were more likely to be sexually harassed.
“Students failed to recognize the seriousness of these behaviors — in part because teachers and school officials failed to address them,” said Espelage. When her group interviewed the adults in the room, they were much less likely to admit harassment was even happening on school grounds, while others weren’t sure they had to report or otherwise protect their students from harassment, as per district and federal policies.
“These findings highlight the importance of making sexual harassment prevention efforts a priority in U.S. school districts,” Espelage said. “Schools need to have a consistently enforced policy that clearly defines sexual harassment and establishes regulations against engaging in such behavior.”
The study was published last month in Children and Youth Services Review.

Three Jailed For Six Months In Osun For Stealing Pineapple

Three persons have been sentenced to six months imprisonment by an Osogbo Magistrate Court for theft of pineapple.

The convicts faced three count charges of conspiracy, forcible entry and theft.

The convicts include, Azeez Olarewaju, 57, Sarafa Olarewaju , 33 and Ilutoye Olayode, 25.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Olusola Aliko, ordered that the convicts be kept behind bars due to the magnitude of the offense committed or pay an option of fine of 10,000 each.

The Prosecutor, Mr Idoko James, had told the court that the convicts committed the offense on August 4, 2008 at about 10 am at Igbo via Ejigbo in Osun State.

Idoko said the convicts conspired together to forcibly enter a parcel of land which was in custody of one Adeyemi Oyedemi without any justifiable reason.

He said the convicts stole palm fruits and pineapple valued about 300,000 Naira.

He also said that the incident almost led to breach of public peace before the intervention of the Nigerian Police.

The Prosecutor said the offense contravened sections 516, 81 and 383 of the Criminal Code cap 34 vol. 11 in the laws of Osun State.

Earlier, the counsel to the convicts, Mr Babatunde Akanbi, prayed the Magistrate to temper justice with mercy in his judgement after the convicts pleaded guilty to the three count charges against them.

"Buhari Is Mad" Kanu Fumes

"Buhari Is Mad" Kanu Fumes

"Buhari is mad. There’ll be no Nigeria again by the time I finish my testimony," Kanu fumes .
.
Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), says Nigeria will collapse when he gives his testimony in court. Kanu, who spoke from the dock, said this in protest of Justice Binta Nyako’s decision to shield witnesses that would testify against him at her court.
.
.
Justice Nyako who held that names of all the prosecution witnesses who are mostly security operatives, would not be disclosed in any record of the court proceedings also said that the witnesses would be allowed to testify against the defendants behind a screen that would be provided by the court. .
.
Justice Nyako however stressed that both the defendants and their counsel would be allowed to see the witnesses who she said would enter and exit the courtroom through a special door. .
.
However, Kanu immediately rejected the court ruling, insisting that it was against the tenets of Justice and fair hearing. “I won’t stand this travesty of Justice. Buhari spoke in public, he accused me in public. I must also be allowed to stand my trial in public”, Kanu bellowed from the dock. .
.
“This is nonsense! I will give testimony before this court! By the time I finish, there will be no Nigeria. This is no Sharia court. It is a court that operates under the common law. There will be no screening of witnesses, no fake identities or fake addresses. .
.
I cannot be tried in secret. No! Nnamdi Kanu cannot be jailed in secret! They are mad. Why must I be tried in secrecy by a government that does not obey court orders. They are killing my people in public, after killing my people they want to try me in private? That person is mad. I won’t allow it," Kanu fumed.

Watch How A Woman Uses Children To Steal From Supermarket (photos, Video)

A shocking video has emerged online of an Abuja-based woman who uses her children to steal from supermarkets.According to a Facebook user, Don Collins, who posted the video online, the woman and about seven of her children were seen entering the supermarket one after the other, pretending that they were looking for certain items which the store owner may not have.

The footage captured the youngsters picking up items in the market after going round the store, and moving out of the place while others deliberately obstructed the view of the attendant inside the supermarket.

One after the other, the siblings left and the mother, who left after them all, ended up not purchasing anything, telling the storekeeper that she could not find the item she was looking for.

Man Commits Suicide Two Days After Losing His Sight

Man Commits Suicide Two Days After Losing His Sight

A retiree of a milk producing company in Lagos, Roy Davies, 54, has comitted suicide two days after a treatment on his left eye went awry, reports Punchng.

Davies, who lived on Oyegbemi Street, Amukoko, Lagos State, reportedly took substance suspected to be Sniper – an insecticide – in the early hours of Saturday. .

Davies had gone for an eye treatment at a centre on Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island, on Thursday. After the treatment, he could not reportedly see with the eye again. He was said to have been discharged from the centre on Friday.

The deceased’s only child, Nancy, a 22-year-old primary school teacher, stated that her father complained of pains and loss of vision when she called him on Thursday to know his condition.

Nancy said she was shocked when Davies told her it would take months before he could regain his vision. She said, “He said a bandage was put on his left eye after the treatment and that the doctor told him it would take six months before he could see properly. .

He said he was in pains and needed my prayer. I prayed for him. While I was washing clothes on Saturday, my husband approached me and said, ‘The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.’ I asked him to tell me what happened. He said my father had killed himself.”

She said her father’s death might not be unconnected with the complication arising from the eye treatment, adding that her father did not lack funds.

Opinion: The Monumental Lies Of Muhammadu Buhari

Opinion: The Monumental Lies Of Muhammadu Buhari

General Muhammadu Buhari said he had only one million Naira in his account before he became president and 150 cows to his name and you jumped, clapped and said, “Yes, that is a man with integrity. He is dirt poor.”

Shortly after the elections and without declaring his assets publicly you realised that Buhari has N30 million in his UBA personal account and owns a palatial home in Abuja worth over N2 billion. You said, “It is okay, Buhari is a man of integrity. He can own a house anywhere. He is not as rich as IBB, Abdulsalam, or Danjuma.” Instead of you to call him out for what he is, a man of questionable character.

He said he borrowed N27 million to buy his nomination form to run for president on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and you clapped for him that he is so poor he had to borrow money and no president had ever been so poor.

A few weeks later, the wife of a “poor” general, makes a donation of N130 million to internally displaced persons in Adamawa. Because her name is Aisha Buhari, some people raise eye brows and ask, if she had N130 million to give away to the real poor people, why couldn’t she give her husband a paltry N27 million to buy his form. You said, “Oh! She is from a very wealthy family, the family of Nuhu Ribadu who also is an acclaimed “poor man” with cows to his name.” Without probing deeper, you swallowed the story of Aisha Buhari’s “wealthy family” hook, line and sinker.

Buhari said he owns nothing abroad, but yet his wife lives at Mayfair in London. Mayfair is one of the most expensive and exclusive neighbourhoods the world. So you really believed the lie that Buhari’s family, would live in a council home in UK? I repeatedly told you that Buhari owns the house in Mayfair where his Aisha Buhari stays, instead of doing research or at least some cognitive reasoning, you decided to call me names… Oh, never mind.

While Buhari was petroleum minister, N2.8 billion (valued at N645 billion in today’s money) grew wings and flew away from the NNPC account in London. Buhari claims he knows nothing about it. You decided he was innocent until proven guilty, afterall, he has sold you the dummy that he is Mr. Integrity. Yet you feel comfortable hounding Diezani Alison-Madueke for money that IS NOT MISSING of which a Senate committee investigated and cleared her of any wrongdoing from allegations fabricated by Buhari’s brother Sanusi the Emir of Kano. Buhari – innocent until proven guilty though money got missing under his watch; but Alison-Madueke – guilty even if proven innocent on money that is not missing.

Buhari said he would bring back the Chibok girls within 30 days of assuming of office, it is going to six months now instead of you demanding for the return of the girls you said you want to give him time. Okay, Buhari, please take your time.

He promised to wipe out his misguided brothers Boko Haram within 100 days in office because it would be a walk in the park for him as an ex-military ruler. You believed him and what has happened since? Over two thousand innocent Nigerians have been slaughtered by his misguided brothers under his watch. The deadliest reign of the Islamist terrorist group since they began their Jihadist campaign in 2009. Yet, instead of asking Buhari questions, you engage in an equally blood-stained conspiracy of silence.

Buhari claimed Jonathan left an empty treasury. But in six months or zero action on the economy and with foreign investors fleeing Nigeria, and with no cabinet… Nigeria is still in one piece. Please where does he get the money to preserve the economy? Instead of asking Buhari these questions and asking if he has been paid his salary and allowances in those six months you are busy passing the blame to a man who has left office.

Buhari has been jetting around the world disgracing Nigeria and Nigerians in the failed quest to be seen as a corruption fighter. He is running Nigeria down and making gaffes at every point. What do you do? Instead of holding him to account, you excuse him and point to non-existent gaffes of a Ph.D. holder president whom you love to hate. At this point, I have to say you are an idiot.

Buhari, is busy fighting the mantra “corruption” and the economy is grounding to a halt, you are losing your jobs and investments, instead of you to tell him that he can fight corruption and still keep the economy rolling you make dumb excuses for him and say he needs time to “fight corruption properly”. What does properly mean? You probably can’t say. But you give him a pass as Nigerian groan under the weight of a failed economy caused by a frozen-in-1984 president.

Instead of reminding Buhari of his lack of an educational qualification for the job and why he should swiftly put up a team that does have the requisite certification, you instead celebrate the “return of power to the North”. You forget to ask him how he is going to sustain the power he has. Instead, you remember to remind him that he is the messiah of his time.

Have you asked him what is happening to our currency depreciating by the minute? Why naira is not equivalent to a dollar as yet? Have you asked him why Nigerian school children are not fed once a day?

Have you asked him why NYSC members have not received their N50,000 monthly allowance that he promised during the campaigns? Or have you asked him why the current “paltry” sum paid to corps members are being owed under Buhari?

Have the docile “men of the fourth estate” aka Nigerian journalists reminded him of their insurance policies? That one is so sad and funny at the same time… No, they have not but rather are still carrying on with lies and propaganda for the APC and Buhari.

Have you asked him why petrol is N140 today instead of N40 has promised by his campaign surrogate? You idiot voter, you still haven’t seen a reason to converge in Freedom Park in Lagos, singing “solidarity forever” to force Buhari to keep his campaign promises.

Have you asked him why he has not paid the pensions of old retirees such as himself? Buhari promised you the best “angels and saints” of Nigeria as ministers but gave you the most rapacious criminals as noisemakers. Have you asked him why? What happened to his heavenly plans? Why did he trade angels for demons? Have you asked him why he took you on a ride for six months? No. But you have the liver to go round telling people he has a right to reward his thieving friends.

Buhari went to India an irresponsibly declared Nigeria broke. But Governor Ayo Fayose asked him to account for the monthly revenue as the previous government was doing. Instead of being transparent, Buhari thinks the best response to a call for accountability it to attack and insult Fayose. Does Fayose look like someone he can harass like that? Please, pull over, Sir. Park well.

Why does Mr. Integrity see it as an insult to be asked to be accountable to the Nigerian people who elected him into office. Isn’t that the true meaning of being “non-corrupt”? Buhari has proven himself as a fraudster, lacking all forms of decency.

If after all of these, you still think that Buhari is a man of integrity then you would believe the earth is flat.

You are fools, but Buhari is a congenital liar.

Stand up and say no to #BuhariSpoilingNigeria.
